Four decisions worth getting right

These decisions shape your retirement income, health coverage, and family plans. Our classes complement your workplace benefits with clear explanations — then give you a place to ask questions about your situation.

Social Security

When to claim, how much you'll get, spousal and survivor strategy, and the lasting cost of claiming early.

Medicare

Parts A–D in plain English, enrollment windows, late-enrollment penalties, and choosing the right coverage.

Estate Planning

Wills, trusts, and powers of attorney — what every family should have in place, and why waiting is costly.

Taxes in Retirement

How benefits are taxed, IRA distributions, Roth conversions, and qualified charitable distributions.

Why people trust MyRetire

Meet Ben Coles

Ben Coles is a National Social Security Advisor (NSSA) certificate holder and holds an MBA from Purdue University Global. He believes that when people truly understand their options, they become empowered to make optimal decisions.

Ben began his career in tech, working for some of the biggest names in Silicon Slopes, where he managed and pioneered new teams and projects. Watching capable colleagues make avoidable financial missteps — simply because no one had explained the liabilities and consequences — drew him into personal finance, where he could combine his love of teaching with helping people directly.

Today Ben is the lead educator at MyRetire and a Partner and Chief Development Officer at Alliance Wealth Advisors. He serves as Director of Programming for Salt Lake SHRM and heads the speaker committee for Utah SHRM's Work Elevated Conference.

MyRetire offers plain-English education and honest answers so you can understand your options before deciding. In this short video, Ben explains why education comes first.
